After the Second Male Lead Awakened

By the time I awakened, the novel had already reached its happy ending. Even the third chapter of the epilogue was out. It turned out I was the gentle second male lead in a novel, in love with the heroine for years without ever winning her heart. I had silently protected her, only to endure the pain of letting her go to the male lead. According to the rule of pairing everyone off, or perhaps to satisfy the readers, I was about to find happiness in the epilogue by getting engaged to the heroine's best friend. But why should being the male lead's friend mean I had to marry the heroine's best friend? I refused. Now that I was awake, I was going to marry the scheming villainess instead!
