We're All Heretics, So Why Are You Bathed in Holy Light?

[Light-novel-style Western fantasy] [Lighthearted sword-and-sorcery comedy]

Ron transmigrates into the world of the game Endless Abyss, becoming the hidden boss, Baron Nightmare.

The good news: Baron Nightmare will one day be an unmatched fighter and the lifelong nemesis of speedrunners.

The bad news: right now, Baron Nightmare is frail and weak, and about to face fifty years in prison.

On the first day, heretics implant a demon’s heart in Ron, and people call him the corrupted Demon Child.

Three years later, Ron becomes the Church’s Supreme Inquisitor, and people call him the brave Knight of Holy Light.

Ten years later, Ron kills the pope and takes control of the empire, and people call him the great leader of the empire.

…

“As the leader of the heretic-hunting team, the youngest pope in the Holy Radiance Church, and the dream man of nine hundred million girls in the Bluefeather Empire, do you have anything to say to your believers?”

In response to the reporter’s question, Ron calmly replied,

“Are you willing to give your lives for your faith?”

…

Years later, as news about how Ron had changed the world flooded every corner, the Abyss Church’s Heretic Saintess, the Archbishop of the Inversion Institute, the uncrowned king of the City of Decadence, the Lord of the Undead of the White Bone Domain, and other villainous masterminds all fell into deep thought.

“We’re all heretics, so how come you’re the one spreading holy light across the world?”
