The Tang Dynasty's Grandeur

So cold!

It's so cold!

Di Renjie, sitting in the train, couldn't help shivering.

His phone rang. He rummaged in his pocket and took it out.

“Where are you now?” Prime Minister Wen asked cheerfully over the phone.

“Um… no idea,” Di Renjie replied casually, still half asleep.

“Check on Amap…” Prime Minister Wen hadn't finished speaking when the carriage plunged into darkness as the train entered a tunnel.

“Ha… it's so cold!”

Di Renjie hugged himself and breathed into his hands. Was the heat broken? He instinctively felt around, but everything was ice-cold.

“Please put your trash on the table,”

The attendant said as he went from table to table with a trash bag.

His voice sounded strange, though. He paused after every word.

“Is the heat broken?”

Di Renjie asked when the attendant reached him.

“No, it's just turned down a little.”

The attendant's head, which had just turned away, swung stiffly back around to stare at Di Renjie.

Clang.

The train entered another tunnel.

In the little light that remained, Di Renjie glanced at the attendant.

He stood perfectly still, staring at Di Renjie with a smile.

“Uh…”

Di Renjie shivered involuntarily.

Clang.

The carriage lit up again.

The attendant resumed his frozen pose, then continued collecting trash from each table.
