Reborn, I Abandoned the Heartless Princess

I was a celebrated general, and I had known the Fifth Princess since we were young. Together, we went to the frontier. While I fought desperately on the battlefield, she kept a foreign entertainer in the military camp. Our childhood bond had been nothing but a joke. I had the entertainer's eyes gouged out and his hands and feet chopped off, then left his body exposed in the camp. After I returned in triumph to the capital, she wiped out my entire Xiao family for the entertainer. They also tore the tendons from my hands and feet and tortured me to death in a painstakingly crafted birdcage. When I awoke again, I was back before our great victory over the enemy and triumphant return to the capital. This time, I would no longer let others take credit for my achievements. After our victory, I asked His Majesty for the hand of the Seventh Princess, the sister she despised most.
