Rebellion in Journey to the West: Leading Sun Wukong in an Assault on the Buddhist Sect!

After being dazzled by bright lights and arriving in the Tang dynasty, Li Zhi learned who he was and planned to lie flat until Li Shimin's death. Then he would become Emperor Gaozong of Tang and enjoy life under Wu Zetian's rule.

But who could have guessed that the System would awaken, tell him this was the world of Journey to the West, and force him to accept a mission?

Li Zhi immediately lost his composure and had no choice but to start scheming and bluffing every which way.

After Wei Zheng killed the Dragon King of the Jing River, Li Zhi knew his chance had come.

He went straight to the palace with the crown prince, Li Chengqian, and Prince of Wei, Li Tai, and accused Wei Zheng of rebellion.

Wei Zheng: “Your Majesty, this old servant has not rebelled!”

Li Zhi: “My father is the reincarnation of the true dragon emperor. You killed the Dragon King of the Jing River, which means you could kill my father too. If that isn’t rebellion, what is?”

Wei Zheng: “Your Majesty, Guanyin Bodhisattva and the Jade Emperor ordered me to do it. This old servant has not rebelled!”

Guanyin Bodhisattva: “???”

With no other choice, Guanyin appeared and had to set the Journey to the West calamity in motion ahead of schedule, ensuring Buddhism's rise to greatness.

Li Zhi seized the opportunity to back down, leading an army to escort Tang Sanzang west to obtain the scriptures. He even appointed himself General of the Eastern Expedition.

Year after year passed. Li Zhi led his army back from the west, with more than a hundred monks in chains among the troops.

From then on, the human world belonged to humans, and heaven belonged to heaven. The monks from the west could only head west to their deaths!
