Legend has it that eating living Tai Sui flesh grants immortality, perhaps even the chance to ascend to immortality. Jiang Chen is a gravely ill boy on the verge of death. His simplest wish is to stay alive, to have a normal, healthy body, and to live a long life. But after more than a decade of torment from illness, the Grim Reaper is finally coming for him. At the moment of his death, he is fed living Tai Sui flesh. His illness is driven away for good, replaced by health and longevity. But these gifts come at a price. His body changes little by little. He can see things ordinary people cannot: the blood flowing through his veins is crystal clear, and even the faintest sounds seem to ring right beside his ears. He feels like he has become a monster, but not a vampire, and certainly not a zombie. That is what Jiang Chen believes. But what are real zombies like?
