The Young Warrior’s Song

He doesn't even know who he is. All he knows is that Khitan raiders came to steal supplies, and an old nun rescued him. His master named him Yang Peng. This Taoist nun has quite a history: she is the mother of Yang Qilang, the seventh son of the Yang family generals of the Great Song. When she learned that Yang Qilang had died, pierced by a rain of arrows from the Khitans, she was so enraged that she never returned to Bianjing. She had lost all hope in the Great Song and became a nun in the nearby mountains, taking the name Yu Xi. She is the head of the sect and the Holy Mother of Huanglian, Lin Qing'er. Yang Peng and his master know roughly where they are, and that Khitans often come here to raid for supplies. Yang Peng stays with his master for four years, until she tells him to go out and make his way in the world.
