Liu Bei’s Simulated Life

He was a retainer of the Youxiong clan,

a minor clerk in the archives of Great Zhou,

an assassin sent to kill the King of Qin on behalf of the Crown Prince of Yan,

a soldier at the Hongmen Banquet when Liu Bang went there,

a lowly refugee who rose in rebellion at the end of the Sui dynasty,

a forgotten foot soldier from the Western Regions during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms,

and a sworn brother of Zhu Yuanzhang, founding emperor of the Great Ming.

He was a descendant of Liu Sheng, Prince Jing of Zhongshan,

a young man from Zhuo Commandery who sold straw sandals,

a guide to those who still believed in the Han,

the embodiment of benevolence and virtue, a model for all ages, ruler of Shu Han, Emperor Zhaolie of Han, Liu Bei.

The Han and its usurpers cannot coexist; the imperial cause must not retreat to a corner.

When an aged body regained its life, its original ambition rekindled the torch of its ideals.

The Later Three Kingdoms era would be his era, too!
