Shen Yu transmigrates to the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty, becoming the least valued illegitimate son of the Shen family. Unable to bear seeing his birth mother humiliated, he angrily leaves home. An ordinary jianbing guozi brings him into contact with the heir apparent, Zhu Houcong. With Zhu’s help, Shen Yu’s path to promotion is smooth sailing.
