Immortals Do Not Live Forever

In my dreams, three rivers block my view, and when I reach out, I can't see the sky through my fingers. Beside me, red robes wrap a body of jade, their faint fragrance slipping into my sleep night after night. My temples turn white and my bones grow thin. Why do maple leaves keep falling without end? My soul is in turmoil. Though still young, I am weary, my hopes already fading. Then, one day, I awaken to find disaster and disease stirring in the mortal world. When all seems lost, a way forward appears: I take in its essence and cultivate an immortal body! “My name is Su Yang.” “I come from the Ninth-Rank Great Pagoda Tree Sect.”
