Wings Against the Wind

In a remote mountain village lives a group of children. Some are left-behind children, while others are orphans with no parents. Their families are poor, they lack love and education, and they do not know how to get along with others or tell right from wrong. Some even suffer from psychological problems. They need volunteers to care for them, keep them company, and guide them. Ji Ning's mother, Yu Qingyuan, used to work for a state-owned enterprise. For the sake of the children in the mountains, she resolutely stayed there until she died of illness.

Her daughter, Ji Ning, however, resented the village orphans. She was convinced they had caused her to lose her mother and become an orphan herself. After her mother passed away, Ji Ning had a huge argument with the villagers.

Jiang Chengbei was also a volunteer. Hoping to help Ji Ning forgive the village and its children, he took the initiative to stay by her side and lead her through one mountain village after another, helping her understand just how much her mother, Teacher Yu Qingyuan, had devoted to this region.

With him by her side, Ji Ning finally let go of her prejudices and changed her attitude. As a new-media creator, she used videos and livestreams to bring greater attention to the mental health of left-behind children, orphans, and elderly people left behind in the mountain villages. People from all walks of life reached out to help the children who needed it.

She and Jiang Chengbei became a couple, and together they fulfilled her mother's final wish: to lead the children out of the mountains and show them the wider world.

Ji Ning also became a volunteer with the same boundless love for others as her mother, Yu Qingyuan.
