Do you understand the closed loop? The protagonist has this golden finger, so he goes to fight with scum in some arena. It can be done in a few chapters. Is there nothing to write about? The author writes the protagonist like one: crazy about being a good old man for the so-called "pension", and the villain is infinitely clever. Even a novel has at least a normal character.
