The Supporting Heroine's Comeback in a Period Novel

Jiang Nanxi’s life was full of twists and turns. Abandoned, then adopted, she climbed at three and started talking at seven, growing up amid the hustle and bustle of construction sites. At thirty, the Rongguang real estate company she founded broke into the world’s top ten, taking her to the peak of success. Then, after the company went bankrupt, she survived a suicide attempt and prepared to make a comeback, only to die in a car accident. Reborn at the age of three, she began again. Many years later, just as she was preparing to make her mark as an entrepreneur, Jiang Nanxi suddenly discovered she was the foil female supporting character in a period business novel. She existed to highlight the heroine’s kindness and virtue. That meant she had no morals, held grudges, was ruthless in her dealings, and was cruel and heartless, so she was destined for a tragic ending. And the heroine? A successful career and a happy family, followed by a smug little sigh: “Those who follow the Way have many helpers, while those who oppose it have few. It’s a shame about Jiang Nanxi.” Hah. A self-reliant businesswoman who built her company from scratch was supposed to be the green-leaf foil for a woman who married well and sailed smoothly to the top? Yeah, right. She’d tear up the script with her own hands. I decide my own life.
