I'm Your Lucky Charm

When Lin Mochu was twenty-eight, she met a man who looked exactly like her first love. “Bro, your wife is being linked to someone else in a scandal. She’s at the top of the gossip trending list.” The man held a cigarette between his long fingers and exhaled a thin cloud of smoke. “Contact the media and announce our marriage.” Years later, the man’s miniature look-alike son wailed, “Daddy, your wife’s bullying me again! Hurry up and divorce her.” The man raised an eyebrow. “Sorry, I can’t do that. You’ll just have to put up with it.” One day, as he watched the woman sleeping soundly, the man remembered how he’d promised her back in college that he would marry her: with a phoenix coronet and bridal robes, a lavish procession, betrothal gifts and formal rites, and a proper wedding. Lin Mochu, I kept my promise.
