The Prefect Who Spoiled Me

[A hypocritical prefect who spends money like water without batting an eye x a clever little bookkeeper who pinches every penny] Lin Tang had gone to great lengths to arrange a wonderfully fortunate life for herself. She thought she was marrying up into a powerful family, but it turned out she was there to bring someone good luck by marrying into their household. The young bank clerk whom Prefect Lu had pulled out and rescued had now transformed into a female bookkeeper at the prefectural office. Whether it was public business or private matters, she dealt with every last triviality, wearing herself out in the process. For the sake of Lord Lu Chen, the prefect: a modest gentleman, pure-hearted and generous, she accepted it all. Lin Tang worked herself into a frenzy, either making money or on her way to make money. Earning it wasn't easy, and she wouldn't let a single coin go to waste. Then she looked back at Lu Chen, who spent money without batting an eye. “Where's the money? Where's my money? The office accounts are empty again!” Wait a minute, how is this guy a corrupt official? Help! A miserable wage slave, furious but too afraid to speak up... Lu Chen: “Suffering a loss is a blessing. Here, I'll give you this blessing. Go ahead and claim it.”
