Great Qin: I Tried to Run Away, but the First Emperor Arranged My Marriage

He transmigrates to Great Qin and becomes Meng Yu, the eldest son of Meng Yi. He plans to quietly build up his strength and flee when the Qin Dynasty collapses. But he never expects Qin Shi Huang to overhear his thoughts.

Ying Zheng: “Zhao Gao is a retainer of my Zhao clan, and he is utterly loyal to me!”

Meng Yu: “Him? Give me a break. He’ll kill off all your descendants and wipe out the Zhao family. But that has nothing to do with me. I’d better focus on escaping...”

“Guards, drag Zhao Gao out and have him torn apart by five chariots...”

Ying Zheng: “Huhai may be foolish, but he knows how to please me. He’s a good boy!”

Meng Yu: “Sure. If he were a good boy, he wouldn’t alter an imperial decree, and Great Qin wouldn’t fall after just two generations. But that has nothing to do with me. I’d better focus on escaping...”

“Guards, banish Huhai from the palace and send him to Mount Li to build my mausoleum!”

Meng Yu: “Everything’s ready. I need to escape before Brother Zheng finds out!”

Ying Zheng: “I knew all along. Guards, issue my decree: appoint Meng Yu as my son-in-law and hold the wedding today!”
