About 120 years ago, explorers in the North Atlantic stopped at Elder Island in the South Pacific, which deviated from the normal route, during their adventure and accidentally discovered ancient ruins on the island. In the center of the ruins is an old altar, engraved with a message claiming to be from the future. The true meaning of the message has never been revealed. Twenty years ago, a theory called "The End of the World is Coming" quietly emerged. The three people who proposed the theory, Almon Crustia, Chen Caidong, and Pelton Aftert, were professors at the prestigious Miskatonic University. After proposing their doctrine, the three professors quickly resigned from their jobs and disappeared from the public eye. Luo Mu, a member of the secret brotherhood "House of Survivors" codenamed [Midnight], boarded a whaling ship bound for Innsmouth, a small island in the Pacific, and began his final struggle for the fate of mankind.
