When the Grand Imperial Preceptor Becomes a Tool

Ye Xin, Imperial Preceptor of the Jin Dynasty, devoted her life to protecting the Jin realm, only to die because the new emperor had improper designs on her. After earning merit by saving the world, she is reborn as a disposable character in a CEO romance novel. Once she completes her role and settles the original character’s karmic debts, she’ll be free to live her own life. But she follows the plot so diligently. Why does it keep going off track? * In her previous life, Ye Xin outwitted the regent at every turn to protect the Jin realm. In this life, she stands up for her junior fellow disciple and makes an enemy of the Soul Refining clan leader, only to discover later that the two men are actually the same person! Ye Xin: “Oh, what a tangled fate.” An Jueye: “I’d really like to remove the word ‘tangled.’” * [At first] Elder An: “Jueye, you’re not getting any younger. It’s time to get married and have children. Your father is useless, so Grandpa is counting on you.” An Jueye: “You’re still hale and hearty. You could easily give me another uncle. I wouldn’t mind.” * Old Daoist Ye: “Xinxin, a man’s mouth is full of lies. Once you leave the mountain, don’t believe a word men say, and don’t fall for anyone too easily.” Ye Xin: “Don’t worry. My heart is as still as water. I won’t fall for anyone.” [Later] Elder An: “Weren’t you going to have me give you another uncle?” An Jueye: “I’ve thought about it. This important responsibility should fall to us young people.” * Old Daoist Ye: “Your heart is still as water? You won’t fall for anyone?” Ye Xin: “Well... now the waters are stirring. It’s all because the wind is too strong.”
