The Princess Consort Is Just Born Lucky

Chu Huayan, the eldest legitimate daughter of the Marquis of Ning'an's household, has returned to the capital. Old Madam Chu: Listen to your grandmother and marry the youngest son of Prince Gong. He may be a little dim, but they’ve sent over an entire courtyard full of betrothal gifts. Chu Huayan scoffs. She quickly arranges for her mother to marry the emperor, then becomes the emperor’s youngest daughter, leaving everyone utterly dumbfounded. Old Madam Chu: She’s just a woman the Chu family threw away. A secondhand woman with a child in tow. Entering the imperial family is just asking for death. The Emperor: My consort and my dear daughter are both precious to me. Is that old woman asking to die? The imperial family: It’s no use, even if the emperor plays favorites. The Imperial Preceptor said Chu Huayan was born under an ill-starred fate and is destined for a life of misery. Imperial Preceptor Mou: The eldest Miss Chu is the luckiest person in all the Great Zhou Dynasty... Miss, I’m gravely injured and won’t live much longer. You’re the finest physician alive. Please save my life, and I’ll follow your lead from now on. Princess Consort Gong: So what if she became a princess? She wanders around the capital with a tiger every day and scares my foolish son. A woman that fierce is destined to end up alone. One day, enemy forces nearly breach the capital. The tigers raised by Chu Huayan are the only reason the city is saved. Everyone: Thank you, Princess, for saving our lives. Old Madam Wei: My granddaughter has power, money, and beauty, but her romantic prospects are terrible. She’s already eighteen. When will she ever get married? The Emperor: My daughter can marry whoever she likes. If it doesn’t work out, she can divorce him and marry someone else... A certain prince: He wields great power and looks down on the world, but ever since he married Chu Huayan, the pressure has been immense. If he doesn’t behave, will his wife, reputed to be the greatest martial artist under heaven, beat him up?
