Eternal Drifting

A quick transmigration story with an official pairing, but no romance plot.

The protagonist has the same setup as the one in the author’s other work, When the Wind Rises in Jiuzhou. You can read this without reading that one! Give it a look if you have time.

There are countless planes, each different from the next. Some have cultivation civilizations, some revere magic, and some are dominated by technology... The many planes have different names for the world to which one goes after reaching perfection, but whether it’s the Immortal Realm or the Divine Realm, each represents their fondest hopes.

But being a “god” is no easy task.

The Origin Realm is a higher world beyond the myriad planes, tasked with keeping them running as they should.

At some point, an increasing number of anomalies began to appear.

Some were people reborn after dying unjustly, full of resentment; others were people who transmigrated after dying unexpectedly...

Each frail soul was like a delicate butterfly gently beating its wings. The ripples they caused clung to the planes, layer upon layer, while countless undercurrents churned beneath worlds that appeared peaceful.

At first, the disturbances in these tiny planes went unnoticed by the mighty figures of the Origin Realm. Then one plane after another collapsed, and the Origin Realm began to quake as well.

Thus, the Plane Guardians came into being.

Most people in the Origin Realm had only heard of them. They knew the guardians spent their days traveling between planes to set things right, but their origins and abilities were secrets outsiders could not know.

That day, Feng Si plunged the Wind God Sword into her chest, but not a drop of blood spilled.

After an unknown length of time, a cold voice sounded in her mind.

“Plane Guardian No. 1049, Feng Si.”
