The Dandy and the Beauty

Lighthearted blurb: A notorious young rake in the capital suddenly changes his ways and falls for a beauty. Once the rake realizes he's fallen for her, he wants to bring her along for everything, from feasting to fun. “Try this,” the young rake says, holding out pastries he bought that morning after waiting in line for ages. He gazes at the beauty with shining eyes. “Are they good?” The beauty frowns. “The storyteller at Dengxian Studio is a real master. Shall I take you to hear him today?” the young rake asks. The beauty says nothing. “Then... the spring weather is lovely, and the flowers are blooming in the countryside. Shall we go on an outing?” he tries again. At last, the beauty speaks, her voice as clear and melodious as a mountain spring. “Young master, you still have ten pages of calligraphy to practice today.” The young rake grits his teeth. To win a smile from the beauty, he sadly gets down to practicing his calligraphy... Literary blurb: Yu Wan and Meng Xinghe meet three times in their lives.
