Mansion at the Foot of the Mountain

It was getting dark, and we could see the lights in the village. This was a road on the side of a mountain, and there were cars approaching. A group of us were riding horses and walking slowly. We were dejected and didn't say anything. We only heard the sound of horse hooves "tacking". Everyone was thinking about what they had just failed to do to persuade Dad.
