This World Has a Bug

“Hello, Taowu City News Hotline. How can we help you?”

“There’s a giant mushroom on Yunlu Street. I just touched it, and my body grew bigger. I turned into a giant. The thing is, I’m afraid of heights! Come save me!”

The operator promptly hung up, thinking, What kind of lunatic is this?

Soon, the phone rang again.

“I got hit by an Ice Mushroom and I’m frozen solid! I can’t move!”

Thinking she was being pranked, the operator hung up again. Before she could complain to her coworkers, the phone rang insistently once more. Annoyed, she cut in first: “What is it this time? Did you see a flying saucer?”

“Ho~w~did~you~know~? There’s~a~fly~ing~sau~cer~over~my~head, and~it’s~mak~ing~me~talk~slow~ly!”

Operator: “Damn it!”

Hearing the alarm that a bug had invaded, Xu Da calmly took a sip of goji berry health tea.

“The bug’s back again. Let me see if it’s useful first. It’d be great if more toads like this one that spits out gold coins showed up.”

With a croak, the golden toad in his hand spat out another coin.
