The Marquis Wasn't Part of the Plan

Not long after the new emperor of the Li Kingdom ascended the throne, the court was still unsettled when his loyal subject, Duke Dingguo, suddenly fell gravely ill. The imperial physicians were helpless, and the emperor had no choice but to post an imperial notice, calling for capable people from across the land to come and treat him. * “Can she really do it?” “If she can’t cure him, three generations of our family will be implicated!” A foreign woman traveled thousands of miles to the imperial capital, took down the notice, and easily cured Duke Dingguo. “You girl, you’ve got some ability. Here, why don’t you treat her illness too? If you cure her, I’ll stop making trouble for you. From now on, I’ll do whatever you say. If I ever see you again, I’ll stay out of your way.” Tang Li had no idea how she had offended someone so notorious, so ignorant, and so foul that anyone who got near him had to bathe for three days! * “Has anyone ever told you that you’re so vicious and cruel it’s downright appalling?”
