A Lovely Girl in the Countryside

A laid-back soul who opened a dessert shop right after graduating college to enjoy the good life transmigrates to the Great Xia Dynasty, a realm that never existed in history, bringing along a garden with a spirit spring. She becomes a poor little thing with neither father nor mother, all from the moment she is born.

Before her mother dies, she asks her parents to raise the poor little thing as a boy.

Her grandfather, a longtime student who never passed the imperial exams, returns to the examination hall to give her a better life and finally earns the title of provincial graduate.

Hua Xiang brings out the baking books from her pocket dimension. After her grandfather pulls a few strings, the first pastry shop in Great Xia capable of making cakes and cream puffs opens its doors.

Her goal, meanwhile, is to become Great Xia’s greatest official.

Hua Xiang’s motto: “Making a fortune is no problem. Just follow my lead, and anything is possible.”

The scheming poor man, who was won over by a single piece of her cake: “Huh? Aren’t we supposed to be a loving married couple?”

The common people, who used to scrape by on three bowls of watery gruel a day and now have full bellies and warm clothes: “Where did you come from? If you don’t love our Magistrate Hua, then move along and stop blocking the way. The promising young magistrate next door, the jade-faced gentleman from the Hanlin Academy, and even the Grand Governor of Nanjiang Circuit are all waiting.”

The scheming poor man: “I’m that Grand Governor.”
