The Clouds Rise, and the Generals Bring Peace

When Li Chengping resolved to dedicate herself to her country and its people, and not marry, her emperor father, who had never once looked her in the eye, simply opened his mouth and sent this battle-hardened heroine, who had earned distinction on the battlefield, to marry into an enemy state. She had never enjoyed the privileges of being a princess, yet she was expected to fulfill a princess's duties. She said, “If life didn't force my hand, who would want to be so gifted?” Patriarchal authority, the power of husbands, and imperial authority all weighed upon her. Carrying the ideal of peace for all under Heaven, she struggled forward to achieve an undying feat that only a woman could accomplish. And he said, “You must not let down the people of the world, but you must never let yourself down.” When he bellowed that he would hang her corpse from the city gate for all to see, he surely never imagined that one day he'd be living off a woman and doing it with such conviction. A fishing-obsessed general who's always riled up (not really) x a bold, dashing drama queen posing as a princess (the real deal) From evenly matched rivals to lifelong partners: could it ever be that easy? When the clouds rise, let this story be sung. Amid choices between country and love, hatred and duty, peace will finally come.
