The Underworld Consort, Spirit Phoenix

At the beginning of creation, all races lived together in the human realm. As their populations grew, resources dwindled and the balance of power between them shifted. Opening pathways to other realms became an urgent necessity...

A little phoenix of the Spirit Clan was imprisoned for twenty thousand years. At last, she got the chance to leave the valley, only to run straight into the fearsome Dragon Clan of legend. Once she finally escaped, she somehow ended up in demon territory. She had barely enjoyed a few peaceful days before he fell from the sky. She kindly saved him, nearly sacrificing all her cultivation in the process. Fortunately, he had a conscience: he taught her the skills she had long wanted to learn but could never master. Then she accidentally tore a hole in the sky, breaking the demons' seal and injuring a whole batch of young spirit beasts. You never know how much trouble you're in until you get into it, and once you do, it just keeps coming...

He had just stepped down from his post when he ran into the little phoenix again, though she didn't seem to remember him. It was fun teasing her. When he heard her nirvana had gone wrong, he went to Kunlun to find her, only to be struck back into childhood. She found him and took him in. He did recover, but it cost quite a few spirit stones. He had planned to take her back to the Dragon Clan to broaden her horizons, but instead nearly caused her clan to be wiped out. He wondered whether she would ever forgive him...

Two powerful leads join forces to save a chaotic mortal world and tell a different kind of tale of immortals and chivalry.
