In the afterlife, existence must be taxed by memory. Su Ming was on the verge of disappearing due to poor memory, so he became a "memory planner" to plant false memories in the minds of the living. When he discovered that all the dead were supplying energy for the life-extending plan of a dying universe, he decided to pay his last tax in the most authentic way possible.
