No Homecoming in This Lifetime

Lin He had been secretly in love with Su Xichen for seven years, from freshman year of high school through senior year, then from a repeat year after graduation all the way to her junior year of college. Lin He wrote letter after letter, hiding them in a drawer for Su Xichen. Then, on a summer night in her junior year, Lin He was stabbed to death, just as she finished writing her 999th letter. "Lin He, if you write a thousand love letters, I'll be your boyfriend." "Su Xichen, you have to keep your promise, okay?" As Su Xichen read the 999 letters, she screamed herself hoarse. "Lin He, I was wrong! Please wake up, please wake up! Lin He! Didn't you always love me? Wake up, and I'll marry you. We'll never be apart again, okay? Lin He!"
