The Chancellor's Feisty Little Wife

A modern tough girl transmigrates into the past and becomes a young woman who sells tofu. Shen Xinning thinks that living an ordinary life isn’t so bad. But it turns out her adoptive father is a lecher, her adoptive grandmother is greedy, and her adoptive mother is a doormat. Trouble is everywhere.

To escape it all, she decides to find someone to marry. The Wen gentleman who often buys tofu from her family seems like a good choice, so she pretends to be a gentle, virtuous young lady to win him over. Unfortunately, he’s far too proud and doesn’t think much of her.

After several failed attempts to get close to him, she can’t be bothered to keep up the act. She drops her pretenses, takes on all kinds of scoundrels, and keeps herself happily busy.

Onlookers, eager for a show: “I wonder which poor soul will marry that fierce Shen girl?”

Prime Minister Wen: “Who says my wife is fierce? She’s gentle and virtuous, all right?”

Everyone says that the mild-mannered, jade-like Prime Minister Wen must be lying through his teeth. People say love is blind, but they’ve never heard that it makes a person see virtue where there is none. Sure enough, ever since Prime Minister Wen married that shrew, he’s been terribly ill!
