Young and Restless

(A key work supported by the Sichuan Writers Association’s 2020 “Thousands, Hundreds, Tens” literary poverty-alleviation program) Cheng Zhaozhao, a young man born in the 1990s, chooses to start his own business after graduating from college, becoming a Taobao seller. By chance, he goes on vacation in the mountains and witnesses the lives of people in a poverty-stricken area. Encouraged by his girlfriend, Yang Yuru, Cheng Zhaozhao helps the villagers of Datianping sell local products online. As Datianping sheds its designation as a poor village, Cheng Zhaozhao also finds meaning in his own life.
