Farming Amid the Chaos of War

Various versions of the synopsis One-sentence version: Time passes and the world changes. Do you still remember where you came from? Synopsis: After transmigrating to a special era of economic decline and backward productivity with a cheat device, the three members of the Liu family take up the farming life, with the men tilling the fields and the women weaving. Planting mulberry trees, raising silkworms, weaving cloth, working the fields… Throughout the year, they plan their farming around the seasons and solar terms. Taxes, corvée labor, exorbitant levies, miscellaneous fees… It turns out farm families get saddled with all these extras, and none of them are any fun. Famine, bandits, the ravages of war, fleeing for their lives… It’s really not easy to farm in peace. This is a romantic era, and a tragic one; an era full of legends, and a brutally realistic one; an ambitious era, and a frenzied, chaotic one… Transmigration is more than a fanciful dream of romance, and farming is more than petty domestic squabbles. The cheat device may be utterly unreliable. A lot of things aren’t what they seem. The Liu family just wants to be farmers. The Liu family’s version: Farming? We’re dead serious about it. Spoiler version: How can an ordinary modern family survive after transmigrating to an ancient era where everything has come together? The northern frontier, the southern wilderness, the Western Regions, the Eastern Sea… Salt ports, tea routes, camel caravans, horse caravans… The Silk Road, the Tea Horse Road, cultural exchange, the merging of peoples… Everything converges here.
