Lord of the Mysteries Fanfiction: Yin Chen Returns

To save his king, Jimei, Yichen expended all his spiritual power at the last moment.

He sank slowly into the endless abyss. As the last glimmer of light before his eyes vanished, his envoy, Qiling, inherited all his spiritual power and talents in a cloud of golden warmth, becoming the new Seventh-Degree King of the Xuancang Continent.

Qiling now felt as if he were in the depths of hell, enduring the heart-rending pain of loss.

If he could start over, he would rather remain the little envoy at Yichen’s side, or follow him into seclusion on Wuyin Green Isle, far from worldly affairs. If only he could start over, if only Yichen could come back…

Jimei stroked Qiling’s head. “Don’t forget your mission. Don’t forget your duty. Believe that he may be waiting for you somewhere.”

Something in Qiling’s heart told him that Yichen was surely still alive. As long as he held on to that belief, he could cross a thousand mountains and rivers, and search every inch of the land for the rest of his life to find him.
