The Grassroots Trainer of the Elves

His goal is to become a Gym Leader.

The story begins with his grandfather tricking him into becoming a Trainer, while the family also has a father who never shows his face. He sounds like a deadbeat father, but perhaps the author wants to tell us that when you can’t count on your parents, you can only rely on yourself.

At the very beginning of the story, there’s a silly duck. As it turns out, this duck is actually quite smart, and a real schemer... All right, the protagonist is someone who transmigrated. He pretends to be a child so convincingly that he comes across as a little twisted. It’s only after he leaves home to become a Trainer that he finally lets go of his emotional baggage.

According to what’s been revealed, the story features an ongoing love-hate relationship with a legendary Pokémon. You can read the book to find out more. The plot and worldbuilding are already in place, but this is an extremely slow-burn story.
