When Earth's rank is forcibly raised, it becomes the opening act of an interstellar war. But a mysterious object that emerges from the river of time temporarily holds Earth's rank back, giving it about fifty years to develop.

Will humanity survive, or will it be wiped out in the war between races?

It all begins with a meteor shower.
