Rewind to 2006

Zhang Yang had just turned forty, and his life so far could only be described as a complete mess. His job was nothing special, and his thoughtful wife had spared him the trouble of having to support her by running off with a fairly wealthy supermarket owner. Luckily, for one reason or another, they had no children. Otherwise, the poor kid would have had a miserable life. Just as Zhang Yang was preparing to make something of himself, his childhood friend betrayed him, and even his meager savings were cleaned out. After a pointless night of drinking, Zhang Yang somehow found himself back in 2006, when there was still time to change everything... (This is a slow-burn novel. It won't be thrilling all at once, but the excitement will build gradually and keep on coming.)
