Half a Lifetime in Ranwei

[Reborn, mystery, sweet romance, tragic love]

A young woman from Youzhou lived through a time of chaos and watched her city get massacred.

Fine! She swore to overthrow this brutal regime that treated Han people as less than animals, and avenge the blood spilled across Youzhou.

But...

She encountered several handsome men along the way, which was quite a headache, while another beautiful woman secretly harbored feelings for her.

Well! Whether to marry a man or a woman, that was the question.

In a time of chaos, one war gave rise to two legendary young men. The same age, fighting in the same war, both legends in their own right. They should have admired each other as heroes, but they belonged to opposing sides and fell in love with the same girl.

It seemed fate had already decided their future: they would meet blade to blade, and one of them would die.

For whom was the tombstone beneath Mount Ejing erected?

Since Heaven could not grant him the justice he deserved in this life, he would make the land for seven li around barren, overrun by locusts, with not a blade of grass left alive.

That year, from the third day of the fifth month through December, the drought lasted a full eight months. No rain fell, and the plants withered. As locusts swarmed, it was as if they were crying out against the cruelty and injustices of the passing years.

(Although the story is built around the origins of Ran Wei, it is entirely fictional. Any resemblance is purely coincidental!)
