Journey to the West: Eighty-Four Trials

The demons of the ten directions thirst for my weakness. Use every scheme you can to force me, and take me down one by one, until you see who I truly am~

I have truly walked this world, after all. One road, nine hundred trials and nine thousand mistakes. I’ll cross the Cloud-Capped Ferry and attain enlightenment, yet I have eighty-one kinds of reluctance to leave it all behind~

Chen Jiangliu, a college student with a severe case of chuunibyou who is obsessed with Journey to the West, believes he is the reincarnation of Tang Sanzang. After his thesis gets harshly criticized, he storms off to become a monk. When he rescues the monkey spirit trapped beneath Five-Finger Mountain, the whole world suddenly lights up.

With an irritable monkey princess from Flower-Fruit Mountain, a thrill-seeking donkey-loach woman driver from Eagle Grief Gorge, a flirtatious and mature pig lady from Gao Village, and a mermaid from Flowing Sand River who’s always making sarcastic comments, he sets off west to experience the pilgrimage of a thousand years later.

“Thank you for saving me. I’ll grant you three wishes!”

“You’ve got five fingers, so that’s five wishes.”

“Huh? Really? One, two, three… That’s obviously only three wishes!”
