The Emperor's Favor: His Beloved Empress

They say the imperial family is cold and heartless, but there are exceptions. As an emperor, he gave her a love and life that others could only envy, living with her as an ordinary husband and wife despite his imperial status.

She was a girl who had carried the weight of fame since childhood; he was a prince hidden away in the Cold Palace, unknown to all.

When they were children, she touched his heart;

In their youth, she made her home in his heart;

Later, she became his heart.

She knew there was something “wrong” with him. She knew the darkness and obsession buried deep within him, yet she still loved him and was willing to use herself as medicine to heal him.

She saved him, and he loved her deeply. He never feared the ministers’ or the public’s criticism and gossip. He loved and cherished her with all his heart.

The history books record: “Of all the emperors, Emperor Xiaozong cherished Empress Jing the most, and they often stayed together overnight, just like an ordinary married couple.”

People in the court said, “He dotes on the empress and is often late for court.”
