Perhaps characterization should serve the perception
Having finished reading it, I have some opinions, and I would like to share a few words with the author. First of all, of course, I want to express my support. There are fewer and fewer authors who can bear to write about traditional martial arts. Moreover, it can be seen that the author is also writing with great care. It is precisely because of the author's care that I want to pick some issues that I think and discuss them with the author and everyone. If I can speak into the hearts of the author and other readers, that would be good. If I disagree with you, then I have the right to speak for myself. Personally, I think that as the protagonist, part of Shen Yuan's character may make many people feel uncomfortable, because it cannot create a sense of substitution, and it is quite stripped away. This part is his excessive obsession with revenge. Hatred is an emotion that is unfamiliar to most people. What many people call hate actually stops at disgust. With such a "rare" emotion as the main tone of a character, it is difficult for this character to resonate with most readers. ,,,;, Of course, there are also stories like The Count of Monte Cristo that are entirely centered on revenge, but Dantès' revenge is both a goal and a means, showing readers powerful power and careful planning. What readers experience is the joy of punishing evil and the comfort of promoting good. As for Shen Yuan in this book, he was in danger all the time because he was anxious for revenge, and his conflicts were mostly driven by anger and hatred. It can even be said that if he had been a little more rational in dealing with hatred, his revenge would have been avenged long ago. From a character perspective, is this kind of character reasonable? It may be reasonable. After all, I have never experienced the emotion of hatred, and I cannot say whether such emotions can be suppressed. It is more likely that Shen Yuan is an emotional person, and it is normal for him to be unable to untie his knot. But from a story perspective, I think this is not a very good design because it brings a sense of oppression. Seeing that the protagonist has everything going smoothly and successfully, but unexpectedly encountering a bolt from the blue and falling short, this can indeed help the story to have ups and downs, but if this bolt is mostly due to his own mistakes, it will make people feel useless. This is exactly the case in this book. Many of the hardships the protagonist encounters were originally harmless or caused little loss, but they were severely damaged due to Shen Yuan's obsession with revenge. After a few times, it gave me the illusion that the hostile forces are not actually that strong, and they just took advantage of the protagonist's stupidity. Although this is not true in the book, it seems so at first glance. This is what I think readers cannot resonate with. From the perspective of readers (at least me), Shen Yuan's behavior is really frustrating. However, he feels good about himself. He has suffered a loss and has not long remembered it. He looks like I want revenge and I am justified. It is really frustrating. To put it bluntly, it is still a question of sense of substitution. Is this character desirable and whether the reader is willing to be him/her. In martial arts novels, what most readers want is either chivalrous and courageous, heroic and ambitious, or free and happy. From my point of view of the current plot, the protagonist Shen Yuan is a little bit different from the two. The story format of this book relies on the protagonist. The protagonist is also the character with the most emphasis on writing. Whether he is likable, true, and representative is really the key to the whole book. Based on what the author said before, Shen Yuan has a paranoid character. These actions are reasonable, but what is reasonable may not be consistent with the perception. It can only be said that he has experienced a lot. If he is truly a spiritually wise person, he should grow up. ,,,, After all, I am a book-watcher who wants to write a book and make three points.
Highly recommend this traditional martial arts style novel, without powers, time travel, rebirth, or system! ! It can be said that it is a fresh stream of online novels today. It is interlocking and fascinating, making people unable to put it down! ! Except for the slow update, there is nothing wrong with it! !
Highly recommended, a rare traditional martial arts novel. The author has profound knowledge, is sophisticated in the description of moves and psychological analysis, the characters are vividly drawn, and it is a story with a big scene. Write slowly, life is bound to be trivial, don't put too much pressure on yourself.

I grew up reading traditional martial arts novels, and suddenly I saw Brother Shanren's semi-vernacular writing style, which vaguely gave me the feeling I had when I read Jin Yong. Already collected, please update!
