Mu Yang, Cold as Winter

Ji Xuehan asked, “How much longer do you think we’ll be together?”

Chen Xu replied, “Of course, for the rest of our lives.”

Ji Xuehan smiled, but didn’t dare give Chen Xu any answer.

She choked back a sob and asked timidly, “Can I hug you?”

“Mm.” With permission granted, Ji Xuehan’s trembling arms wrapped around Han Yang’s waist, tightening little by little.

When Han Yang felt the dampness against his chest, he lowered his head and kissed Ji Xuehan’s forehead. “I’m sorry,” he murmured.

She said, “I don’t know if you waited for me during the year I was gone. It’s all right if you didn’t. Just think of it as something I owe you. This time, I’ll be the one to wait for you. I’ll wait until you come back.”
