The Udumbara Flower Calamity

She was once a mischievous little flower fairy on Youpo Mountain. With her Grandmaster, the Old Mother of Youpo, backing her, she ran wild across the Nine Heavens, doing whatever she pleased. That was why her name was Moxian. Guided by the principle, “Moxian, don’t resent her; don’t hold it against her,” her Grandmaster fiercely protected the little epiphyllum fairy. After all, the epiphyllum clan had no flower deity to protect them. Their blossoms withered easily, and becoming immortals was no simple matter. In the ten thousand years since the world began, there had been only a handful of epiphyllum fairies. With her Grandmaster on her side, Moxian was especially smug.

When the Jade Emperor held an immortal banquet, her Grandmaster was invited and brought along her little flower fairy. At last, Moxian could see the celestial palaces and the immortal dancers at the Jade Pool. What? The Seventh Fairy had secretly descended to the mortal world, and Moxian had to fill in for her? The eldest fairy looked frantic. Fine, Moxian would do it. What? The Jade Emperor had taken a liking to her? He wanted her as his personal maid? Grandmother, Moxian needs you to protect her...

The God of War returned victorious, and Moxian couldn’t resist going to see the excitement. Damn it, who had shoved her into the middle of the road? What? The God of War caught her in his arms and said, “You’re finally back?” What was he talking about? She didn’t understand. “Remember, my name is Jing Xuan.”

Whether it was the Jade Emperor or the God of War, both treated her wonderfully. She returned to her life on Youpo Mountain, only to accidentally release the sword spirit from the God of War’s Demon-Slaying Sword. Could her luck get any worse? The sword spirit fled into the Ten Directions Illusory Mirror, which had been formed inside the Shennong Cauldron when the world began. If you make a mess, you take responsibility. I, Moxian, will go with you and bring it back...

What exactly happened inside the Ten Directions Illusory Mirror? Why did she return with such a drastic change in temperament, no longer so carefree and heedless? Who was she, really?

Would Moxian choose Zichen, the Jade Emperor, or Jing Xuan, the God of War?

Where would they go from here, and what fate awaited them?

The answers lie in The Epiphyllum’s Ordeal...
