The Princess Consort Sent Away for Marriage

You said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”

You said, “Once we’ve wed, we’re meant to walk through life together. Even if we have to cross a mountain of blades or a sea of flames, we must never abandon each other. How could I leave you to face it alone?”

You said, “Susu, I’ve fallen in love with you. My only wish in this life is to stay by your side forever and be your eyes, so you’ll never stumble again.”

You also said, “Susu, you’re the only person in this world who can stand shoulder to shoulder with me. I want no one but you.”

So I believed you, and my heart was moved.

That day, you ascended the throne, full of pride and ambition, looking down upon the world. But the woman standing at your side, the one you made empress, was a beautiful young woman with a fresh face!

On that same day, you issued an imperial decree arranging a marriage, and a princess suddenly appeared in the royal family, destined to marry far away in another country.

The bridal sedan was bright red, and so were the clothes, but neither could conceal the pallor of the woman inside. She was the wife you had once promised never to abandon!

If you let go of my hand today, will you regret it someday?

Will you regret it?

You will regret it. You definitely will...
