The Warmth of Tears and Lips

The stately Italian villa was wrapped in the glow of the setting sun, its ruddy light filtering in through the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows.

A maid tapped softly on the jade door knocker. “Miss, the master is waiting for you in his office.”

Ruo Han got up and headed downstairs, the maid following behind her. The office door stood open. The maid stepped forward and tapped softly on the jade door knocker. “Come in,” came a low male voice from inside.

“Father.” The word seemed no more than a form of address, her pink lips barely moving. Bing Zhengquan set down the documents in his hand. “Starting tomorrow, Butler Yin will drive you to and from Hongsi University every day.” Bing Ruohan lowered her eyes and replied without hesitation, “Okay.”

From the moment she was born into the wealthy Bing family, it seemed Bing Ruohan was destined to have no say in her own fate. Like a puppet, she was used to being controlled by an unseen hand. More accurately, she had no regard for her own life.
