The Adorable Beast Becomes a Consort

When she’s on her own: a pretty-face addict, a foodie, a chatterbox, and utterly shameless on top of it all. Life is bliss.

When she’s a fluffy little ball: she plays dumb, acts sweet, clings to powerful people, and unleashes every adorable trait, from looking wronged to acting haughty and coy.

She’s living under someone else’s roof. Her master is so beautiful he seems almost otherworldly, and he’s right up her alley, but he’s also twisted, scheming, expressionless, and a man of few words!

How’s she supposed to live with a caretaker like that?

So she worked hard to improve herself.

So she kept up her cute act.

So she trained diligently, hoping to become a demon and take human form as soon as possible.

Well, none of that was a problem. But... who said she was an auspicious beast?

She figured becoming an auspicious beast instead of a demon was a good thing. After all, she thought an auspicious beast had a brighter future than a fox spirit.

But what was that about whoever obtained an auspicious beast ruling the world? She’d become a walking target!

In tears, she wished her newly enthroned master would hurry up and conquer the whole realm, uniting the Nine Provinces!

But her master merely toyed with her eight tails, coolly dismissing her worries. “Relax. You’re not going to become any kind of auspicious beast.”

She was just about to burst into grateful tears when he added, “You’re just emergency rations.”

Deep-fried, steamed, braised, or stewed? She nearly bristled with outrage!

Her master sneered. “Why go to all that trouble to eat you? I can just toss you onto the bed.”

So she curled up with all eight tails tucked in, thinking only one thing: Before the ninth one grows in, run!

Unfortunately, the Nine Provinces were crawling with monsters in human guise. Her master was one of them, but he wasn’t the only one.

There was a prince from one country, a grand preceptor from another, and even the biggest criminal gang in the Nine Provinces!

Fine, she discovered those were still normal. What wasn’t normal was a certain sect master who split his own personality, that “half-demon.” What are you, Dongfang Bubai?

With wolves ahead and tigers behind, should she sacrifice herself to feed the wolves or the tigers?

She... she... she’d better go find her master!
