If Love Is Just Watching from Across the River

Wen Zhiyu married Li Jinan against her will and with a heavy heart. She didn't want to marry him, but he married her with all his heart. After they married, she miscarried, and her own husband was to blame. Shattered and unable to forgive him, she wanted to escape his world, and hid away for three years. When she returned, she was still Mrs. Li. He still doted on her without limit or reason, to an almost outrageous degree. She didn't love him. She hated him for what she had lost. But with his gentle yet forceful advances, he domineeringly claimed a place in her heart. Feeling inferior because she wasn't truly a daughter of a prestigious family, she did everything she could to get a divorce. But he told her, "No matter who you are, you will always be my wife." She sank into his lifelong tenderness and couldn't pull herself free. * When his old love returned, she suddenly grew anxious about the title of Mrs. Li, which she had never valued. The truth about what happened three years ago came to light. She was panic-stricken. He hadn't been the culprit, but he had taken all the blame for his old love, who was. Only then did she realize that she hadn't been the one he loved most after all. He no longer trusted or cherished her. The tenderness and love he had once given her seemed like nothing more than a dream. * She received his divorce papers. He asked what else she wanted. She said nothing, her hand trembling as she signed. Her heart fell and shattered into pieces that could never be put back together. * She spent her days drinking to numb the pain of losing him, and was disfigured and injured while saving him. In return, he gave her an invitation to his wedding with his old love. She couldn't understand his cruelty. In the end, she left with a heart turned to ashes. When they met again, they were strangers. She was blind and had lost all her memories. He held her for a long time, unable to let go. He had thought she would be better off without him, never realizing he was pushing her into an abyss. * It wasn't that he didn't love her. He loved her too much and couldn't bear to let anyone hurt her, but he had miscalculated. He took her to every place they had visited together, hoping to find the memories she had lost.
