The General’s Daughter Claims Her Physician Husband

She was the legitimate daughter of a general's household, bestowed by imperial decree as the crown prince's consort, but foolish and useless. At fifteen, she fell into the water by accident. When she awoke, her eyes gleamed with intelligence. She had transmigrated here, carrying unparalleled medical skills, and vowed to rise to greatness. When bored, she teased her stepmother and put her stepsister in her place. Whenever the mood struck, she played tricks on the crown prince and exposed his schemes. He was the Ninth Prince of Qi, known as the “Ghost King.” Fortune-tellers had declared him a lone star of calamity. First he supposedly killed his birth mother, then his grandmother, and now even his father! Three of his brides had died suddenly before their weddings. So at twenty-two, he was still a bachelor! When the foolish crown princess met the terrifying Ghost King, the two oddballs hit it off at once. He said, “Since we're both wicked, why don't we... join forces and wreak havoc across the land?” She replied, “Sounds like a great idea!” Scene One: Their first meeting. He was fishing among the lush greenery by the lake when she was mistaken for a red-bodied, green-tailed mermaid and reeled in. She flew through the air in a graceful arc and crashed into a rock. Before passing out, she cursed, “Mother!” Scene Two: Their next encounter. She was swinging in the courtyard of a country estate when she accidentally swung up into the clouds and landed in the lake outside the wall. As she climbed out, she happened upon him fishing by the lake. He smiled lazily, his voice seductive yet cold and aloof. “Miss, you seem to enjoy being caught on a hook, don't you?” “Hook you!” she snapped, splashing water all over him. And so their feud began. But he gave it the grand name “a bond as deep as water and fish”!
