I Have an Ailment, and You Have the Cure

A devoted emperor versus a cold-hearted, loyal minister. A minister wholeheartedly tries to help his ruler become a wise sovereign, only for the ruler to turn dark and devour him. * Holding up a cup of poisoned wine, Qi Liao addressed the man and woman standing before her. “With this first cup, I, Qi Liao, toast His Majesty and Consort He. May you live happily together for a hundred years.” She drained it. “And may you die without heirs.” “With this second cup, I toast the great realm of Da Wei. Pity that its days are numbered and its glory will soon fade.” “With this third cup, I toast myself. If I could live again, I’d change this realm and make sure the name Xuande never existed in the history books.” His face livid, he snarled, “Seize her! Crush her bones and scatter them in the streets for the masses to trample...” Reborn, she did exactly as she’d promised. With careful steps, she finally changed the realm and replaced the emperor. Wait?? What?! And yet, something still went wrong... This emperor is, sick! Emperor: I have an illness, and only you can cure me. Minister: Your Majesty, I know nothing of medicine. That shy little boy he was as a child. How did he grow up to become so shameless? * One day, an attendant to Emperor Rongzhi hurried in with a report. “Your Majesty, Your Majesty... Something terrible has happened. The Emperor, the Emperor says all the unmarried daughters of the princes and high ministers who have come of age must have their heads shaved and become nuns.” “Why?” “At court this morning, someone submitted a petition asking the Emperor to fill out his harem...” The empress: “...Enough. You may go.” A few days later, rumors began to spread. The Emperor looked at a palace maid for too long, so she was beaten to death. A palace maid glanced at the Emperor, and she was beaten to death too. No palace maids are allowed to attend the Emperor. The Emperor has to spend every night in the empress’s chambers. The empress is jealous and can’t stand even the slightest competition. Much later, Qi Liao sighed: She had been reborn, but not only had she failed to shake off the title of the bewitching empress who brought ruin to the kingdom, she’d gained another one: the most jealous empress in history... Only this time, she didn’t mind at all. * &
