[The First Meeting]
She was caught up in the mysteries of an ancient tomb, met a tragic end, and was reborn as a lonely soul.
When he first saw her, he was moved by the resolve in her eyes.
He saved her from the executioner's blade. Perhaps in that moment, his heart began to stir.
Like a dream of Nanke, she was reborn as an illegitimate daughter of a marquis's household, where she suffered endless bullying.
To take revenge on those who had hurt her, she planned every step and laid every trap, each move more perilous than the last.
The marquis's household was as deep as the sea. Watch as this lowly daughter fights her way up and turns the tide.
When he saw her again, she was on the brink of death, and he erupted in a fury unlike anything he had ever felt.
He declared, “Anyone who hurts her must die.”
His coldness was for her, and so was his smile. He would rather betray the world than betray her.
There had been no love in her previous life, and she had no feelings in this one. When she first met him, she resisted him inwardly and met him with a cold expression.
Unable to bear her indifference, he forced a kiss on her. That kiss left him hopelessly entangled.
Perhaps that kiss unsettled her heart, too.
When she saw him wounded and suffering for her, her frozen heart began to thaw.
Whatever tomorrow might bring, she loved him now, and would have no regrets.
[A Fun Little Scene]
The sun was shining bright today, perfect weather for a little highway robbery.
On the official road of the Nan Heng Kingdom stood a masked woman in a fitted outfit, a long sword in her hand and several subordinates behind her.
From the other end of the road, a man wearing a blazing-flame mask approached with a spring in his step and a smile on his face.
The man spoke warmly: “Qing'er, what are you planning to do?”
The woman rolled her eyes. “Idiot. What else would I be doing dressed like this?”
The man wasn't angry at all. He pretended to suddenly understand. “Oh, so Qing'er is planning to rob the Nan Heng Kingdom's treasury silver.”
At that, the woman said, “If you're scared, hurry up and leave. Don't just stand there getting in the way.”
The man looked unconcerned. “Robbery? That sounds thrilling. I've never done it before. Anyway, people already call us a pair of bandits, so let me join in. I'm worth a hundred men. We can split what we steal nine to one: nine for you, one for me.”
The woman was speechless.
Soldiers escorting a carriage slowly approached along the road.
The woman stood in the middle of the road, sword in hand.
She declared, “This tree was planted by me, this road was opened by me. If you want to pass, leave your toll money behind...”
The man gazed at her, his eyes full of tenderness.
This is a one-on-one romance. I firmly oppose mistresses and love triangles, and stand by the principle of one partner for life.
