The Cold King's Relentless Pursuit of a Consort

Good heavens, you can’t be serious. Sure, it was a dark and windy night, but she was an assassin who had come to the palace to kill the crown prince! How could she fail to kill him, suffer internal injuries, and then run into a shameless opportunist like him who took advantage of her predicament? Taking advantage of his drunken strength and her helpless inability to protest, the two of them ended up in bed. With nothing else to do, she slipped away while the sky was still dim. What else could she possibly do? Her first attempt on the crown prince’s life had failed, but luckily she had another unexpected identity that no one would suspect, one that could hide her secret purpose. But when she saw him for the second time, she realized he had completely ignored her. He couldn’t even remember that night when they had been so passionately entangled beneath the dark, windy sky. She felt like coughing up blood, but it seemed too late for that now. Sigh, what was she supposed to do? She couldn’t seem to forget him, so she’d punish him instead. Let him find out what it meant to suffer! Don’t forget, she was an assassin, one who could scale walls and leap across rooftops in the dark. What could hurt her besides swords, knives, and hidden weapons? She grinned coldly, her smile cruel. ☆☆☆☆☆☆ This story was originally called Where a Thousand Sails Come to Rest. While writing the early chapters, I realized the outline and plot were full of flaws, so I reorganized and revised the original. I hope you’ll accept the changes. This is a slow-burn story with some angst, hardship, and a little suspense. If that’s not your thing, please move along. Enter at your own risk. The plot is rather familiar, so if anything gives you a shock, please don’t take it personally. I hope you’ll continue to support me as always. Please add it to your library and cast your votes. Ideally, you’ll do both! ^__*) Mo Yan’s first story published on Xiaoxiang: Don’t Ask (completed) http/read.xxsy.net/info/102033.html Mo Yan’s second story published on Xiaoxiang: The Princess Bride (completed) http/read.xxsy.net/info/146147.html Mo Yan’s new story, Moonlight Treasure Box: Fallen Phoenix, went on sale today.
